Camp Amicus Day  Camp offers a unique day camp experience where children and teens with Learning Disabilities/ADHD can develop social skills while having fun and building friendships. For children/youth ages 8 – 18, campers will have opportunities to learn and practice age appropriate social skills, peer relations & problem solving. Mature, caring counsellors plan activities to ensure that campers build confidence and self-esteem, while having a great time!

 

2018 Day Camp Schedule 

DC 1 & 2

Based out of Foothills Academy in Calgary, our Day camp brings a whole new set of adventures to camp. Our days are spent developing social skills with direct instruction in the morning and supporting this learning through real world experiences on field trips and through choice programs.

Activities Offered: Swimming, Field Trip, Sports, Arts and Crafts, Cooking, Social Skills and More!

* Before and After Care:  Before and After Care is offered for half an hour on each end of camp at no cost.

Intake Process

New campers:  If your child has not participated in an Amicus or Social Skills program through Foothills Academy Society, an intake must be completed prior to registration.

What will the day campers be doing?

Camp Amicus Day Camps take place in Calgary from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday for one-week or two week periods. The camps focus on teaching and reinforcing social skills in a fun and safe environment. All our day camps will be based out of Foothills Academy in northwest Calgary. Camp goals are to increase the campers’ self esteem, make friends, learn social skills, have a ton of fun and make lasting friendships! Camp activities may include swimming, horseback riding, games, crafts & more! Before and after camp care is offered at no additional charge one half hour before and after camp.
