Moving Forward: Empowering Young Adults with LD and/or ADHD
For someone diagnosed with a Learning Disability and/or ADHD, sometimes just getting through high school can become the main goal. But, what comes next? How do you transition and adjust to the expectations of the adult world?
The transition to adulthood can be a difficult one for many but for young adults with LD/ADHD, it can present extra challenges and many find themselves without direction or running into barriers and feeling isolated. Moving Forward is an 8 week group program for young adults (ages 18 – 25 with a LD and/or ADHD diagnosis) where you can find support during this important life transition. Facilitated by a Registered Psychologist, this group will focus on the development of self-determination skills such as self-understanding and self-advocacy so you can become your most healthy and effective self. Additionally, each week participants will connect with peers as you participate in fun recreational activities (sports, cooking, music, etc.). Through this group, you will learn more about yourself, your struggles and how you can thrive as an adult.
