What is counselling/psychotherapy?
The purpose of counselling/psychotherapy is to help people change their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours through the collaboration between an individual and a psychologist. It provides a supportive environment to talk openly and confidentially about concerns and feelings. Psychologists use a number of different theoretical models to assist with this change. Our psychologists use a combination of cognitive-behavioral, narrative, solution-focused, and systemic theories to guide their practice.
