Staying Safe and Healthy this School Year

Thank you for your continued support and understanding as we continue to maintain stringent health protocols to keep all of our community as safe as possible from the transmission of COVID-19.  

This week we should receive rapid tests and medical-grade masks for all students, which will provide an additional layer of protection for all.  Every student will be provided with one box of five rapid tests and a two-week supply of masks. The rapid tests are for Alberta Education’s At-Home Rapid Testing Program, and it is optional whether you participate or not.  If you DO NOT want the rapid tests and/or the masks sent home, please let us know at schoolreception@foothillsacademy.org

The tests are for students (not other family members) and are to be administered twice a week (eg: Monday and Thursday, or Sunday and Wednesday).  

When the tests and masks are sent home, you will be notified by your homeroom teacher, so that they don’t get left in backpacks for too long.  There will be an accompanying one-page information sheet with the package which will provide instructions and resources about how to use the tests and other key COVID-19 health information.  We have included a link to a copy of this one-page information sheet here so that you have an electronic copy too.  Staying Safe and Healthy Info Sheet
