A Gut Feeling: How Your Child’s Gut Health May Be Impacting Their ADHD.
Schedule
Did you know that your child’s gut and brain are in constant communication, and what is being communicated can impact your child’s mood, behaviour, and focus?
When gut health is disrupted, it may influence some of the same pathways involved in mood, attention, behaviour, and emotional regulation, making the gut-brain connection especially important for children with ADHD. In this workshop, we’ll explore the fascinating connection between the gut and the brain and what it may mean for children with ADHD. You’ll learn about the gut-brain axis and how the microbiome, digestion, inflammation, and the nervous system all play a role in this complex communication network.
We’ll discuss what can disrupt your child’s gut health, the signs that their gut may need more support, and what current research tells us about the relationship between gut health and ADHD.
We’ll introduce practical tips that you can implement at home. You’ll learn simple, realistic strategies to create a stronger foundation for your child’s gut health and, in turn, support their growing brain for better mood, behaviour, and focus.
Who Is This For?
This workshop was open to everyone! Parents, caregivers, educators, and professionals working with youth found valuable insights and strategies to support children and teens in preparing for a successful summer.
