Melissa has been part of the Foothills community for 13 years and is about to begin her 14th year!

Melissa has been part of the Foothills community for 13 years and is about to begin her 14th year!
A Role That’s Never the Same
What Melissa enjoys most about her role is the variety and the people she gets to work with. She enjoys connecting with families and helping them navigate what can sometimes be an overwhelming process, while also supporting staff and students along the way.
Melissa also enjoys the problem-solving side of her work, finding ways to improve systems and make processes more efficient. With so many different responsibilities, no two days are the same.
Supporting Students Every Step of the Way
Melissa’s role reaches far beyond admissions. Her work follows students throughout their entire Foothills Academy journey, from their first inquiry and application through enrollment, student records, course registration, exams and graduation.
She also manages several of the school’s systems, troubleshooting issues and helping keep things running smoothly. While much of her work happens behind the scenes, it helps ensure that students, families and staff have what they need to succeed.
A big part of Melissa’s role is making what can initially feel like a complicated or unfamiliar process feel welcoming, clear and manageable for families.
A Recent Accomplishment
One recent project Melissa is proud of was setting up Foothills Academy’s summer school program within the school’s student information system. After working through a few unexpected setbacks, she was able to get everything sorted out and ready to go, much to the appreciation of the teachers.
Getting to Know Melissa
When she is not solving problems and keeping systems running, Melissa enjoys summer, camping, travelling and spending time with family and friends.

- Fun fact: She has a twin brother.
- Dream skill: She would love to play the piano or another instrument so she can join her musical family during their jam sessions.
- Favourite season: Summer, thanks to the warm weather, long days and more time outdoors.
