About the Read, Write & Math Program
The Amicus Read, Write & Math Camp is a unique partnership between Camp Amicus and the Read/ Write & Math (RWM) department, offering a blend of academic support and summer camp fun. Campers start their day at Amicus Day camp, with large group games, art, sports, and social skill development. In the afternoon, they work one-on-one with a RWM Instructor for two hours, focusing on reading, writing, or math interventions
After their instructional session, campers rejoin Amicus for more classic Day Camp activities like gaga ball, water games, comic making, and more. These opportunities ensure campers enjoy the social and recreational benefits of camp while receiving the academic "boost" they need.
Each camper’s academic plan is tailored by their instructor to address their specific needs, ensuring a targeted skill-building approach. Campers receive weekly updates from their RWM instructors and a detailed summary report with recommendations for continued math and literacy growth. In addition, they will receive a camp progress report highlighting their social strengths and areas for improvement.
Families benefit from seamless programming that combines top-tier academic intervention with the fun of Amicus Day Camp—all in one convenient location.
